Far less than Brunswicks yes due to the MUCH bigger openings in the respot cells. You can and will get offspots (out of range is a Brunswick term, with AMF's it's an offspot) with AMF's (speaking of 82-70's, the old 30's would just blackout). View Member Profile Find Member's Topics Find Member's Posts Rep The pin spotter just had a big gold "B" on the front and I am assuming this is the first generation. PS.I think I bowled at a center with the old A1s when I was in ohio. Now I need to call for assistance!!!! LOL Now I know!! Thanks for the info.I used to bowl at am AMF house where pins would get knocked down, but all the centers I bowl at use Brunswick and I never see them get knocked down anymore. I guess I never paid attention to the type of machine. I've notice how at some places the pins get knocked down, and at some places where the pinspotter goes back up and then the gate drops. Every other time it just knocks the pin over. I have only witnessed one OOR on an AMF machine myself. I think AMF's don't have anything except the framwork of the table on the bottom, so the overall surface area to contact the head of a pin is small, which is great to avoid out of ranges, but it has the undesired side effect of usually pushing a pin over because of the reduction in flat surface for the pin to contact.
